Smith County Schools is excited to announce the Teachers of the Year for the 2019-20 school year.  

   

Michelle Flynt is the PK-4th Grade Teacher of the Year.  She teaches 3rd grade at Carthage Elementary School. Michelle is a 2001 graduate of Jackson County High School and 2006 and 2008 graduate of Tennessee Tech where she earned a B.A. in elementary education and a M.S. education administration. Michelle and her husband Jeremy reside in Smith County with their two children Jorja and Grayson.

Corinne Agee Miller is the Grades 5-8 Smith County Teacher of the Year.  Corinne teaches sixth grade at Gordonsville Elementary School.  She graduated from Gordonsville High School in 1997. She is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University where she earned a B.S. in Business Administration - Management Information Systems.  Her early career was in business and government where she served as a Chief Municipal Finance Officer where she made a life changing career choice to return to school to earn a Masters Degree and become a teacher.  Corinne attended Cumberland University where she earned a M.A. in teaching. Her and her husband, Brian, have been married for 19 years and have three wonderful children: Madison, Aidan, and Emma Kate Miller all of which attend school in Smith County.

Brandy Grisham is the grades 9-12 Smith County Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Grisham has taught a variety of math classes at Smith County High School for the past nine years. Before becoming a teacher at SCHS, she attended Tennessee Tech University and earned a B.S. in mathematics. She continued her education earning a M.S.  in curriculum and instruction from Carson Newman in 2016. Brandy resides in Elmwood with her husband, Stephen, and daughters, Lily and Ruth.
