Digital Music Assignments Week of April 20, 2020
Good morning all, I hope these find you still safe and home. Much like last week, these optional assignments are here for you to use. Find the one that suits you best. Please do not stress them in any way. If I can help, please send me an email at stigginsl@smithcoedu.net, I’ll get back to you OR send email with your number and I can call you OR leave a message at school and they will relay to me. K-2 Options
#1 - Challenge your family to a nursery rhyme sing off. Take turns singing all the nursery rhymes you can remember. Keep score by number of songs and who gets the most complete nursery rhymes. This can also be done with songs that make you smile - see who can get the most laughs from the other competitors. (It’s also fun to google a nursery rhyme song list and see how many of those you can do!) Have some fun!!
#2 - Back by popular demand - Pick a sunny day and go outside to play sound bingo with the attached bingo board. Print out two and play against a friend. First person to hear the sound gets the square. Five in a row wins. Use your ears and win the game!
3-5 Options
#1 - These last two weeks of the month, let’s review our staff reading from our notation standards. You should have a review page of staff paper with our phrases written in for you. Third & fourth grade only use the Treble Clef or top of the notes, fifth grade the entire clef, both Treble and Bass is for you. Open Quavermusic.com. (remember to log on with google and allow flash many times). Go to the student interactives on the bottom left side. Select music theory. Play any of the Staff Champions to review note names. See if you can beat your high score!
#2 - If you are feeling overwhelmed with option #1, go to BrainPopJr. Select music and watch the movie for Time Signature and Notation to review your knowledge. Take the quizzes and see if things are coming back to you!
6-8 Options

#2 - Go to musictechteacher.com. Hover over Quizzes/Pianos and select quizzes from the drop down menu. Play any of the games from the section labeled Quizzes - Music Notes. Find the one you like best and review your Treble and Bass Clef knowledge!
Addendum for 6-8 graders: I just found a really cool article on music in Nashville right now! It's got some good info on music therapist work and gig work in town. Plus at the end of the article there is a link to music heals playlist, much like ours.
