Teacher appreciation, pencil, and apple

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week and tomorrow, Tuesday, May 5th, is National Teacher Appreciation Day.

Teacher Appreciation Week 2020 is definitely different this year due to the COVID-19 school closings, but the Smith County Board of Education still wants to celebrate our wonderful educators.

While every school year brings its own unique challenges, this year has definitely pushed our teachers and students outside of our "normal" limits.  The teachers in Smith County have definitely shined during this difficult time with their creativity, compassion, and tireless effort to make sure the children of Smith County have had access to meals and the opportunity to continue their learning.  Smith County Board of Education appreciates the valuable role ALL our educators have taken on during this challenging time.  Also, a special thanks to our principals for the leadership and guidance they have provided, sometimes at a moment's notice, to our educators.
