Hello my name is Neil Thomas Brown. I am an 8th grader at Defeated Elementary School. My parents are Jack and Crystal Brown. While at DES, I was a member of the National Beta Club, voted 2nd Team All County in Basketball, attended county wide field day, and won first place in softball throw at Regional Field Day my 8th grade year. During my 9 years at DES, I played basketball for 5 years. I played baseball for the Smith County Middle School Owls, Smith County Minor League, Little League, Junior League and travel baseball for the Smith County Sidekicks. In 2019, my team and I won the Junior League Tennessee District and State Championships and placed 3rd in the Southeast Region. I also race in the NHRA Junior Drag Racing League. In my spare time, I like to go racing and work on cars with my dad, go hunting with my Papa, play baseball and spend time with family and friends. I attend and am a member of South Carthage Missionary Baptist Church. I have lots of great memories at DES but my favorite was my 8th grade year in basketball. I look forward to playing sports in highschool. My advice to future graduates would be to have fun while you can and be nice to Mrs. Vaughn.
