Graduation Information – Class of 2021

 

SENIOR EXAM SCHEDULE:

There will not be senior exams this school year.  A letter will be sent home to seniors by May 7 who have met the requirements for graduation.  This will be after a review of your records to be certain all requirements have been met regarding credits and time.  The last day for seniors who have met all requirements will be May 7, with graduation to follow on May 14, at 6:30.

 

 GRADUATION INFORMATION:

We intend to have the ceremony on the football field on May 14, 2021, at 6:30 PM.  The gates at the field will open at 5:30 PM. All guests will sit in the stands following COVID-19 social distancing guidelines. All guests will need a ticket to enter and each graduate will receive 10 tickets.  Accommodations will be made for handicapped individuals. If the weather does not permit, we will have the ceremony in the gym.  This decision will be made by Thursday, May 13, 2021, to determine where the ceremony will take place.  MAY 14, 2021 at 6:30 PM is the graduation date!!

 

GRADUATION PRACTICE (May 7):

We will practice on Friday, May 7, 2021at 9:00 AM.  This practice normally lasts a little over an hour.  Please do not complain about how long it takes.  The time depends on your attention, patience, and cooperation.

GRADUATION DAY:

If we have the ceremony on the field, we ask that you meet in the gym at 5:15 PM on graduation day. If we have the ceremony in the gym, we ask that you meet in the cafe at 5:15 PM on graduation day. Please park in the front parking lot, enter the building closest to Coach Apple’s room (not the bus loading doors) for temperature check, and report to the designated area.  Parents are not allowed where graduates are meeting at 5:15 PM.   We will lock the gym/cafe doors, and you may leave your personal items in there during the ceremony.  Diplomas will be received during the graduation ceremony. Remember to bring your cap, and gown, and any club stoles you may have earned. 

  • We will have a photographer taking pictures as seniors receive diplomas.  Information about pictures will be distributed at a later time.

GRADUATION ATTIRE:

We require that seniors wear a shirt (with a collar and tie), dress pants, and dress shoes, or a dress.  Dresses should be an appropriate length for your gown.  We are suggesting flats or low heel shoes due to being on the football field.  Do not wear tennis shoes (this includes Converse).  If you need any of these items, please see Mrs. Denise Hackett before the day of the ceremony.  Graduation is a formal occasion, and we want you to look nice. You may NOT decorate your caps.  We are not trying to be picky or overbearing.   No facial piercings, visible tattoos, or unnatural hair color.  You may NOT decorate your cap. WE will PULL you from the line, and you will NOT participate in your graduation ceremony if these guidelines are not followed.

➤DRESS for the occasion.

            -collared shirt and tie, dress pants, and dress shoes, dress (no bright patterns) and dress shoes,

            -NO TENNIS SHOES- (includes Converse)

-BRING CAP AND GOWN and ANY CLUB STOLES

➤The gates at the field or the doors of the gym will open at 5:30.  All guests will sit in the stands following the COVID-19 social distancing guidelines.    

➤All fees must be paid before you will be allowed to graduate.  Please make sure you take care of any fees you may owe.

 

**This is a great day of celebration for all of you.  We are proud of your accomplishments, and we wish you a life full of success and happiness.

 

Miscellaneous Information

  • Seniors must have earned a minimum of 24 credits to graduate and all time must be made up.  

  • Monitor and watch closely your grade level Google classroom.  This is where you will receive information.  This is your responsibility.  

  • Awards Day-Scholarships and Top 10 ACT-April 30, 2021-8:15 AM.  This will be viewed during class. This is a virtual ceremony and no guests or students will be present.  

  • Pay all fees, turn in all books, and Chromebooks before graduation by May 7.

  • Guidance has made a document on Google classroom about final transcripts that need to be sent to colleges, etc.  Please read over this. Seniors will need to pay $1 per transcript to be sent to the college(s) of choice.
