SCMS Car rider location and procedures this school year will all be the same except for one BIG change. SCMS is following the same protocol as CES using bright paper with child's name clearly printed on it. The driver must have this Student Pick Up Tag clearly displayed while in pickup line. This is only printed, time stamped, and laminated at SCMS to pick up that particular child with the student's name clearly showing on dashboard, held out the window or on the visor.
If the driver does not have this Pick Up Tag, that driver will not be allowed to pick up the student. If custody changes, it is the guardians' responsibility to notify the school of these changes.
Message Smith Middle the number of tags your family needs for you SCMS child/children. We will prepare them and have them waiting for you at the front desk July 22, 23, or August 5 and 6. The student's guardian is the only person who can sign out the Student Pick Up Tags.
If you need more during the school year, the guardian must come to the school to request the tags.
This change is obviously due to the changing nature of guardianship for many of our students. Our student safety is everything.
