State Testing begins Monday, April 14th until Tuesday, April 29th
We will be taking 1 test each day starting at 8:30am. Students who have perfect attendance through the duration of testing, will have a pizza party the afternoon of April 29th as a reward.

It's a Monster Mash @ SCMS!!
Oct. 31st @ 5-7pm, SCMS will host a county wide Halloween dance. There will be music, dancing, concessions, costume contest, and much more.
Any Smith Co. School student in 5th -8th grade may attend. Students who do not attend SCMS are required to present the signed permission slip at entrance. (attached)

Students may not use cellphones or other personal communication devices during the school day.
This includes smartwatches. Please note these are not allowed on the student's person. They must remain in the student's backpack or at home. Below are the discipline procedures for violating the policy.
DISCIPLINE K-6
1. First Offense - Confiscate cellular phone and return only to parent, warning issued.
2. Second Offense - Two days afterschool detention or two days in-school suspension (ISS).
3. Third Offense - One day out-of-school suspension and subsequent offenses will result in one day out-of-school suspensions per offense.
DISCIPLINE 7-12
1. First Offense - Three days in-school suspension.
2. Second Offense - Five days in-school suspension.
3. Third Offense – Ten days placement in the Smith County Alternative School.
4. Fourth Offense - 5 days Alternative School and 5 days out-of-school suspension with a loss of any privilege under this policy for the remainder of the school year.
5. Category Ill Offense - suspension (mandatory for 20 days).
