Our open house will be from 4:00 - 6:00 on August 4. During this time, parents are welcome to come into the building with their child to meet with teachers and get familiar with the building. If you are unable to attend during this time but still wish to see teachers, you may call to schedule an appointment after 10:00 on August 4.

The ACT will be given at SCHS on Saturday, September 11. The deadline to register is Friday, August 6.

Seniors will return school issued chromebooks and chargers on May 3, 2021. On this day, you will go to 1st block and then an announcement will be made to go to homeroom. These need to be in the same shape in which they were issued in order to graduate. We will have procedures in place for chromebooks that are returned in a damaged condition with the cost of repairs.

Dress Code Reminder: Shorts must be knee-length. If leggings are worn, a shirt or dress must be worn with them that is knee-length. Students in violation of this policy will be asked to call home for a change of clothes or will be put in ISS for the remainder of the day.
The Smith County Health Department will be coming to SCHS and offering COVID-19 vaccines to students who are 16 years old or older. Information and a parental permission form can be picked up in the office by any interested students. Permission forms must be returned by Friday, April 16 in order to receive the vaccine.
End of Course and Dual Credit Testing starts on Monday, April 12 and will last until Thursday, May 6. The testing schedule has been posted on all grade-level Google Classrooms.
The SCHS baseball game against Clay County which was scheduled for today has been postponed. Baseball will play Jackson County at home at 11:00 am. Soccer will play a postponed game against Cannon County at home at 6:00 tonight.
All after-school athletic events for today have been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date. There will be no after-school program.
Smith County Schools will be dismissing at noon today due to forecasted severe weather.
POSTPONED: Freshmen registration and orientation which was scheduled to take place Thursday, March 25, has been postponed until Tuesday, April 6, due to the enhanced risk of severe weather being forecasted for tomorrow evening.
Parents/guardians, remember that if your child has direct exposure to a positive COVID-19 case or if anyone in the household is being tested for COVID-19, they should not attend school. In these cases, please call the school for guidance on when your child can return.
