All students will learn remotely on Wednesdays and any other days they are not physically present at school. Due to the issuing of Executive Order 70 by Governor Bill Lee, the TSSAA is restricting attendance at athletic events throughout the duration of the executive order. At this time, the only spectators permitted to attend athletic events are players’ parents/guardians and household members. There will be no public tickets available. No TSSAA passes will be accepted. Season ticket holders will only be permitted to enter the gate if they are a parent/guardian or household member of a player. Again, the only spectators allowed to attend are parents/guardians and immediate household members. Information about how to get tickets will be communicated to players by their coaches.
Seniors-The first packet of scholarships are available on the 12th grade Google Classroom that has been set up for all seniors to join. The deadline is January 22, 2021. Please read this carefully to see which scholarship you might qualify for. Then print the scholarship from Classroom, and give it to guidance on or before the due date. We will attach transcripts and ACT scores for you and also fill out anything needed from us.
Students and Parents: In order to be counted present during remote learning days, students should participate in the live virtual instruction being provided through Google Meet and complete any assignments they are given. Teachers are still teaching, and all work that is assigned is expected to be completed just as if we were meeting in the building. Check your Google Classrooms at the beginning of each class time, and join your teachers' Google Meets, if applicable. If your teacher has given you an opportunity to make up any missing assignments from this 9-weeks, make sure that work is completed and submitted by Friday. If a student needs a truancy form this week, email Mrs. Hord at ahord@smithcoedu.net to make arrangements.
