GIRLS: Wear a spaghetti strap tank, but you must wear a shirt to cover straps during the school day. If you would like to wear a necklace in your drape picture please wear or bring it with you. Due to CDC guidelines, Inter-State Studio will not be bringing any jewelry with them.

All students attending Smith County Schools (traditional in-person learning) will return to school on Monday, August 31st full time, Monday-Friday. Virtual students will continue in the virtual learning program. Chrome books that have been issued to students are for student use at home and in-school for the remainder of the school year. There is no need to turn in chrome books on Monday when all students return to school. Students will continue using these. If you are here before 7:45, there are new waiting areas for students.

Tickets for Friday night's football game against Gordonsville High School will be pre-sold at both SCHS and GHS this week. Tickets can be purchased for $7 from 8:30 - 2:30 on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday in the SCHS library or GHS front office. A total of 1,500 tickets will be sold; if any tickets are remaining after the pre-sale period, they will be available for purchase at the ticket booth on Friday night.

Remember that we will be preselling tickets for the football game tonight against Macon County from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM at SCHS. Please enter the library door to purchase tickets. Tickets will be $7. We will also sell tickets at the gate starting at 5:30 PM until we reach 50% capacity. We will screen and check temperatures at the entrance. TSSAA requires facial coverings to be worn by all fans. We encourage all fans to bring their own facial coverings; however, masks will be available to those who may want one.

SCHS Before/After-school Program August 2020 The before/after-school program will offer a program beginning August 10, 2020. We will meet Monday through Friday mornings from 6:45-7:45 and Monday through Thursday afternoons from 3:00- 4:30. You will have a choice to apply for mornings, afternoons, or both. This program is offered to students in grades 9-12. Students participating in the morning program will: - receive homework help and tutoring, especially in Math and English - be allowed to get breakfast in the cafeteria as normal Students participating in the afternoon program will: -receive a nutritious snack -participate in Credit Recovery -practice math and computer skills -get homework help -engage in healthy activities/exercise -interact socially If you are interested, you may register your student on the SCHS Website. There in an enrollment form and student/parent handbook. A Parent Orientation meeting will be scheduled as soon as the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. This is a fun, but serious, learning experience for students. We are excited to begin our year and feel it is a great opportunity offered to our students. Students enrolled in the virtual option in need of a chromebook will need to come by school Friday, July 31 or Thursday, August 6 to pick these up and complete the technology agreement. You may come by school between 9:00 AM-3:00 PM. This is for ONLY for the students who have already turned in the virtual contract. New student registration will be available by appointment only on Friday, July 31, and Thursday, August 6.
