Parental Permission Regarding TN Public Chapter 1061 In accordance with the “Families’ Rights and Responsibilities Act”, Public Chapter No. 1061, in order for a student to receive health care services by a school nurse or other person acting on behalf of the school system or receive counseling services from a school counselor or other school personnel, a parent or guardian must provide written consent. NOTICE TO BID The Smith County Board of Education is accepting bids for Janitorial Supplies. Bid forms with specifications may be obtained at the Board of Education Building, 126 S.C.M.S. Lane, Carthage, TN 37030 during normal business hours. A public bid opening will be conducted on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the Central Office of the Smith County Board of Education, 126 S.C.M.S. Lane, Carthage, TN 37030. We would like to congratulate both SCHS Baseball and GHS Baseball teams for making it to the state tournament. The board meeting scheduled for Tuesday May 21, 2024 will be rescheduled to Tuesday May 28, 2024 at 5:00, so board members and school administration can go and support the teams. K-4 Countywide Field Day has been rescheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

Smith County Schools will be open tomorrow, Friday, May 10th at normal time. Students who are still experiencing a power outage or cannot safely travel to school due to road conditions may contact their home school tomorrow and it will not be counted against them. Buses will run on time at the driver's discretion.

Congratulations to Gordonsville High School on their advancement to the semifinal round of the TSSAA Boys State Basketball Tournament, which will be held tomorrow, Friday, March 15, 2024, in Murfreesboro. Smith County Schools will be closed tomorrow, March 15, 2024, to allow all students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to attend the game.

Parents and School Employees: Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 5th is a professional development day for all school employees. There is no school for students tomorrow.
